Trond Undheim, Partner, Vidian Ventures, will speak and moderate a panel on Trends & Triggers: The Changing Face of CVC in Silicon Valley and the World at Scaleup Summit 2019 in San Francisco, to be held at NASDAQ Entrepreneurial Center on Sept 26, 2019.
The world’s best companies have been coming to the Bay Area since the 1980 to scout for trends, technology and startups. The current wave has seen an influx of Asian and European innovation outposts, with a notable boost in presence by Japan in the last 3-5 years, partly inspired by Softbank Vision Fund’s efforts. However, venture capital has globalized significantly over the past decades, with notable emerging hubs in London and Hong Kong. Corporate innovation best practices are emerging. Are innovation outposts still an efficient tool in an innovation strategy? What are emerging practices in startup/corporate collaboration? Are the best entrepreneurs still coming to the Bay Area—and should they? Where are the best deals and who is getting them? What are the emerging trends in CVC? Are the best CVCs now a better bet as anchors for scale-up startups than top tier VC?
From the Panel description, “Trends & Triggers”.
